Global recognition of the IB Diploma Programme

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) has prepared nearly 1 million students around the world for university with a passion for learning and a global perspective, since it was founded more than 40 years ago. Today, more than 100,000 students take Diploma exams each year in nearly 3,000 IB World Schools across 138 countries.

We are acutely aware of the importance of university recognition for these students and following research in 2010, the IB committed more resource and time to this area of our work. To ensure that more and more universities have strong recognition policies for DP graduates and more university admissions officers understand the curriculum and the effort made by DP students throughout their studies, an extensive new set of materials has been produced.

This suite of information provides more details to universities and also answers the many questions that they have about the Diploma Programme.

We are delighted to inform you that this information is now available online.
